Discover pretty villages, welcoming pubs, waterfalls and wild swimming pools. This sign-posted, off-road but easy-going 'out & back' route follows the River Swale through the picturesque Swaledale - and avoids the hills! The Swale Trail is 22km out to the village of Keld and same back. The first half, a 12km section to the pretty village of Gunnerside, is a great low-level option. There's a great little pub, The Kings Head, for refreshment before heading back.
