Yorkshire had the very proud honour of hosting the 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart, the biggest cycling event in the world. Stage One on the 5th July 2014 set off from Leeds city centre finishing in the Yorkshire spa town of Harrogate, threading it's way though the Yorkshire Dales and right past our front door here in Fremington Swaledale. En route, taking in the stunning scenery of Wharfedale, Bishopdale, Wensleydale and our home Swaledale. With three of our favourite climbs thrown in for good measures namey Kidstones, Buttertubs Pass and on our doorstep Grinton Moor.
From here at Dales Bike Centre we are well placed to tackle the most scenic part of the route 'The Northern Loop' a 92km circuit taking in the three big climbs and missing out the busy parts.
