Demo Cotic and Trek Bikes at the Dales Bike Centre

Here at the Dales Bike Centre we have a selection of Trek full suspension mountain bikes and Cotic bikes for you to demo. What better place to test ride a high end Trek/Cotic mountain bike than on the stunning natural trails of Swaledale – test the bike on the trails you want to buy it for!

We charge £40 to demo one of these bikes for the day, this covers the cost of maintaining and running the bikes. We will tune the bike to you, making sure the fit is perfect and talking you through suspension set-up before sorting you out a route so you get the most out of your day. If you decide to buy a bike, we’ll knock the hire cost of the price off the bike.

If you ride the bike and like it, then you can place your order with us. We can order your new bike, build it for you and get it set-up just how you like it. We do a range of ‘off the peg’ custom Cotic builds to suit most budgets, from £1650 upwards, or just let us know what you want and we’ll build your custom bike!

If there is a Trek or Cotic bike you’d like to try that we don’t have in at the moment give us a call and we’ll do what we can to get one in for you so you can demo the bike on the trails you want to buy it for.

Trek Top Fuel 8

Treks 100mm bike features an aluminium frame with Rockshox Reba fork and Fox RP2 Race tuned rear shock. An SLX groupset takes care of the drivetrain and braking creating one seriously lightweight but great value bike. Don’t think this is just a race bike though – it is an extremely competent bike that we really like! It’s just as quick on the flat as it is on the really steep stuff, you’ll have a job getting it off Anthony!

We have this bike available to demo in a 17.5” and a 19.5”.

Trek Fuel EX8

This is Trek’s 120mm trail bike, featuring an Aluminium frame, Fox fork and Fox RP2 Rear shock with DRCV technology, XT groupset and Avid Elixir breaks. We’re very impressed by this years Fuel EX8, the bike looks great and is really good value for money. What’s more it rides really well! It may ‘only’ have 120mm of travel but it has yet to feel out of its depth on anything, Stu has been amazed by the performance of the new DRCV rear shock. If you’re in the market for a do-it-all trail bike this should certainly be on your list!

The Fuel EX8 is available to demo in 19.5”, 18.5” and 17.5”.

Trek Fuel EX8 WSD

This is the women’s specific version of the popular Fuel EX8. It features nearly all the same components with adjusted geometry, 120mm of travel and some really smart graphics! The Trek women’s range has really benefited from team rider Tracey Mosely’s involvement – Tracey recently won the Kielder Avalanche Enduro women’s race on a Trek Top Fuel WSD highlighting the incredible performance these women’s specific bikes now offer.

We have the Fuel EX8 WSD available in a 14.5” and a 15.5”.

Trek Remedy 7

The Trek Remedy 7, a 150mm ‘All Mountain’ bike that has a Fox 32 fork and RP2 DRCV rear shock. This is one serious bit of kit, it loves it steep and rocky, down hill and down! It’s the only bike that Stu cleaned Fremington Edge on last year – come and try it for yourself!

We’ve got the Remedy 7 available to demo in a 17.5” and an 18.5”.

Cotic Soul

We’ve a 2010 Cotic Soul in large and medium for you to demo on Swaledale’s natural trails. The Large is built up with Magura Thor 140mm forks, Magura brakes, SRAM X0 and Thompson finishing kit (coming in at £2750). The medium is built up with Magura 120mm forks, Magura brakes and the finishing kit includes SRAM X0 and Bontrager.

The Soul is the original long fork steel hardtail. A trail riding machine in the truest sense, the Soul has amazing adaptability and all round performance. It's just as happy ripping up the singletrack at your local woods or trail centre as it is tearing down mountains on your summer holidays. Stu’s choice of bike for the last 7 years.
